Let Igbo Produce Next IGP, Group Tells Buhari

A civil society/human rights organization, International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint the next Inspector General of Police from the South East as the incumbent IGP, Ibrahim Idris, is due for retirement on January 3, 2019.

The group in statement issued in Onitsha, Anambra State and signed by its Board Chairman, Emeka Umeagbalasi; Head, Campaign and Publicity, Chidinma Udegbunam, and Head, Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, Obianuju Igboeli, recalled that the outgoing Idris joined the Force on December 31, 1984 and was born on January 3 1959.

It said going by the list of senior police officers (IGP-CSP), it meant that on January 3, 2019, Idris would have attained the age of 60 and 35 years in civil service in accordance with the Civil Service Rules of the Federation 2008.

Making a strong case for the appointment of a qualified Igbo police officer as the next IGP, Intersociety said: “Owing to widespread allegations and reports of exclusion of the citizens of South East and the Region from several important federal appointments including top security appointments such as membership of the Nigerian security or

Making a strong case for the appointment of a qualified Igbo police officer as the next IGP, Intersociety said: “Owing to widespread allegations and reports of exclusion of the citizens of South East and the Region from several important federal appointments including top security appointments such as membership of the Nigerian security or Service Chiefs by the present Buhari administration as well as constant defenseless denials by the administration, the vacancy created by the retirement in three weeks time is now a major test case for the administration.

Intersociety warned against the “ongoing plots by Nigeria’s ruling cabal and profiteers of ethno-religious chauvinism in the country to bend the rules including pushing the retirement of IGP Ibrahim Idris off the Nigerian and world media and attention so as to subvert the due process and law to unlawfully, illegally and unconstitutionally retain Mr. Ibrahim Kpotum Idris.

“Going by our several investigations, it is correct to say that all is not well with Igbo nation state or South East Region in the present political dispensation especially in the country’s security forces.”

The policy of “leave the force for your own interest and to safeguard your life or stay back and get silenced or get ready to face years of stagnancy or posting tea making,” appears to have been entrenched against serving sons and daughters of the region.

Our cursory look into the patterns and trends governing enlistment, promotion or ranking and posting in the present NPF is a clear attestation to that fact.

“Therefore, it is time for the Buhari administration to prove to the entire world that it is not running a hate policy including political and securitisation exclusion, segregation and persecution against the people of Igbo nation state and the entire region.

“We are authoritatively armed with facts that notable number of Igbo senior police officers have left the force or remained in same for several years, suffering promotion or rank stagnancy or “tea making posting or duty assignments.”

On who should succeed Ibrahim Idris, Intersociety recommended ten qualified candidates, saying: “The Presidency should pick among Igbo serving senior police officers especially those with at least two years to stay in the force.

RCCG member committed suicide over leaked unclad photos – Lady says

0

A new update on the story of the RCCG member who committed suicide has emerged online. The new report has it that he killed himself over leaked nude photos.

The man identified as Mike was earlier reported to have committed suicide over the inability of his church to secure accommodation for him.

But according to Bennie Umoren, Mike wasn’t even a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, as he left the church two years ago.

She alleged that he killed himself after he was busted for having sexual relationship with another girl while preparing for his wedding. The wedding was however cancelled and this led to his depression.

She wrote:

Mike didn’t leave suicide note and he didn’t die because of financial or rent issue. No church abandoned him because of rent. If you know pastor Telena of Shepherd House, you will know he takes very good care of his members and pastors the way he takes care of himself.

Mike left RCCG 2years ago to Shepherd house church Apo, Abuja where he was a worship leader but was suspended 2months ago, his wedding cancelled because of sexual relationship with another girl who leaked his nudes hence he got frustrated because of the embarrassment.

His house in Sunnyvale Abuja was given to him by the church for free.

This narrative that redeem abandoned him is a lie. No body is defending church but you people should stop looking for any opportunity to attack the church and men of God. They are not the reason Nigeria is hard. You didn’t elect them. Channel all your frustrations to Buhari and Fasola that’s not giving us light for days and won’t even give anytime soon.

In another news, #NextLevel is not here yet, it’s coming in 2weeks…..prepare for it. Cheers

Namaste 🙏

Anglican Church sacks two gay priests in Abia State

0

The Arochukwu/Ohafia Diocese of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) in Abia State has announced the sack of two gay priests.

This dismissal comes after several accusations and investigations on the two priests for indulging in homosexuality at the Arochukwu/Ohafia Diocese of the Church of Nigeria were found to be true.

After they were found guilty of being gay priests, the church issued a letter, “Notice of dismissal from ministry”, dated April 29, 2019, to them. The letter was signed by Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Johnson Onuoha.

The memorandum which was also copied to the Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria and Bishop of Abuja, the Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, warned any persons dealing with the expelled clerics to be mindful as such could dent the image of the church.

The letter reads in parts:

“We wish to inform you that the following clergy have been dismissed from the diocese of Arochukwu/Ohafia. They are Rev. Chukwuemeka Duru and Rev. Solomon Chukwuzubelu Okonkwo.

“The report got to us that they were indulged in the act of homosexuality. We investigated and found them guilty of such accusation. We were left with no option than to withdraw their letters of order (licences and certificates of ordination) and dismissed them from the ministry.

“Therefore, anyone dealing with these persons should tread with care as such can drag the image of the church to the mud.”.

It’s a Shame That Nigerian Election Was Rigged – Oyedepo

0

The General Overseer of The Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo in his reaction to the just concluded presidential election in Nigeria, has said the election was a disgrace to the country and its citizens as a whole.

Speaking during the Sunday service at the Church headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, Oyedepo mocked the irregularities that marred the exercise and also prayed that Nigeria would not experience another war as a result of the remaining elections.

Oyedepo said:

“Other developed countries around the world had developed their mode of voting into a digitised method, but it’s a shame that in Nigeria, we still queue up to vote, and somebody would still be intimidated by thugs. With these, it’s a shame how politicians in this part of the world are proud of elections marred with rigging.

“In Covenant University, any student caught indulging in examination malpractice, is gone. It does not matter if his or her father is the head of United Nations or not.”

Oyedepo continued by praying against any form of bloodbath in any part of Nigeria as a result of the forthcoming governorship and House of Assembly elections:

“Every spirit of thuggery in Nigeria shall be silenced and every forces that would not let Nigeria rest shall be laid to rest and silenced forever.”

‘I Will Kill You’ – Asari Dokubo Threatens Nnamdi Kanu’s Life

0

Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo has vowed to kill the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Dokubo made the threat after saying that the struggle for the actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra has been compromised by the IPOB leader.

In a video he shared on Facebook on Wednesday morning, he wondered why Kanu is running instead of facing the Nigerian Government squarely.

He also called out Kanu for alleged killing Prophet Anthony Nwoko, insisting he has not killed anyone before, even as a Muslim.

“our fellow Biafrans, in this period of darkness, a few people have decided to thrash our struggle in the blood of our own people. So that they will become Supreme leaders, saviours and messiahs. We didn’t see the red flag, the signals were always there but some people saw it before us. But because we believed that Biafra must be achieved with any means possible, we did not see these dangerous signals early enough.

He then went on to say, ‘Nnamdi Kanu, i will kill you, mark my words, because in this killing business ooo I am a professional o”.

Asari, still talking about the assassination of Biafra Prophet, Nwoko, said it was wrong for the Biafran struggle to be turned into bloodshed. He warned that he would not hesitate to kill Nnamdi Kanu if he dares him, saying, “I’ll smoke you out. I’m not boasting. I’ ll smoke you out from every hole, every corner. They know me. If one idiot threatens to attack me and makes good his words to attack me, I’ll kill him.”

Pastor and mistress bag death sentence over murder of NNPC staff

0

A Nigerian pastor and his mistress have been caught by the long hands of the law as a court sitting recently sentenced the duo to death for the murder of a senior staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).

The pastor identified as Udoka Ukachuckwu, and his mistress, Eniobong Isonguyo, got the death sentence for the 2013 killing of Engineer Victor Gabriel Isonguyo.

According to reports by The Nation, the deceased before his death was the husband of Eniobong, before his life was cut short by the man of God, who was having a secret affair with his wife. It was gathered that his body was found days after he had been killed and set ablaze.

The arrest of Ukachuckwu followed after the car of late Isonguyo was tracked to him, and he could not explain how he managed to sustain burn injuries on his hand.

In a court sitting, Justice G. Imadegbelo, was informed that the late husband of Enionbong was killed by a sharp object and set on fire in his vehicle on agreement with his wife who was already carrying a baby for the cleric at the time.

It was further reported that some witnesses at the court trial testified that the murder was carried out after it became evident that the deceased was aware that his wife had gotten pregnant while he was away.

The two were sentenced to death by hanging by Justice Imadegbelo.

Aisha Buhari Should Assist Her Husband To Pack His Things’ – Fayose

0

Former Governor of Ekiti State , Mr Ayodele Fayose , on Sunday queried President Muhammadu Buhari’ s wife, Aisha , over what had happened to the cabal that she alleged had hijacked her husband and prevented him from performing in office.

Fayose , who is the Southwest Coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council, said Aisha Buhari would be insulting the sensibilities of Nigerians by asking them to re – elect the same man she asked them to help her rescue from the cabal .

The former governor , in a statement by his media aide, Lere Olayinka , said Nigerians would take the First Lady ’ s campaign for the reelection of her husband seriously only if she could explain what had happened to the cabal that she said caused Buhari administration’ s failure .

He said, “In October 2016, the First Lady told Nigerians the truth about the incapacitation of her husband and went on to say that should things continue till 2019 like they were in 2016, she won’ t go out and campaign for him and ask any woman to vote.

“In December last year , she reinforced this position by claiming that a cabal controlling her husband ’ s government made it fail. This is January 2019 and the question the First Lady must be asked is ; what positive change has Buhari’ s government made on Nigeria and its people between 2016 and now?

“Is the First Lady going to be campaigning to Nigerians to subject themselves to another four years of the country under the same cabal that she had accused of running her husband ’ s government aground ?

“Most importantly , what will Aisha Buhari be telling those women whose husband ’ s and children were killed by rampaging herdsmen? What will she tell the women whose husband are among the over 12 million Nigerians that lost their jobs in the last three years? What will be her message to the women who can no longer feed their children owing to over 300 per cent increment in the price of food items ?

“Rather than wasting public fund jumping up and down to seek the votes of Nigerians for a husband that is not in charge of his government , what the First Lady should do is to assist Buhari to pack his things in readiness for his exit from the Presidential Villa this year , ” Fayose stated .
